Indian food in Fairfield isn’t hard to find. But GOOD Indian food, that’s another story. That’s where Hot n Spicy comes into the picture! Located on Route 4, in Fairfield, this restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. We came to find out about this restaurant after my wife met one of the owners, Nabin at the gym. He’s a very soft spoken man, but has an absolutely huge heart for others.
We decided to try out Hot n Spicy this past weekend and boy am I glad we did. The location is a bit hidden in a strip mall, so you may miss it if you’re not paying attention. As soon as we got into the restaurant, we were greeted by Nabin’s friendly smile and a warm welcome! The restaurant had a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. You could smell the food cooking as you walked to your seat.
The Food Experience
My go to dish when I visit an Indian restaurant is always Tikka Masala. Hot n Spicy has a very interesting twist to their Tikka Masala. Instead of the traditional flavorings, they use a cashew cream blend that provides a very unique and delicious taste. I have to say, when it comes to spice, they truly live up to that name! The medium heat on my Tikka Masala rivals the, “Hot,” dishes at other restaurants. I love spice in my meals, but if you don’t, be mindful of the spice level you choose!
My wife got the chicken tandoori dish for her meal. The presentation of the dish really caught my attention. Not only did the food smell amazing, it looked just as good as it smelled! After we finished staring at the dish, both my wife and I tried the chicken tandoori. The flavor on the chicken was completely different from the traditional tandoori. It’s difficult to describe but it was such an amazing combination of flavors in my mouth.
Hot n Spicy is definitely a must try for Indian food in Fairfield! The flavors are a fantastic fusion of Indian, Chinese and Nepalese. The owners are an absolute blessing! Every customer that dropped in while we were there left laughing and well fed. It’s always a treat getting to try a new restaurant and support a local business in the process!
